Childcare Level 6

A level 6 major award in childcare offers a comprehensive preparation for a career in leadership and supervision in early years care and education. The qualification aims to build on the knowledge, skills and competencies achieved in the QQI Level 5 qualification and is designed for those who wish to progress and undertake a managerial role in an ECCE setting.

QQI Level 6 Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education (6M2007) comprises 8 modules. From September/October 2019 to May 2020, you could complete 4 of these modules. If you wish, you may study any 1,2,3 or all 4 modules. Please see below!

Notes:

Students are expected to commit to on-going self-directed learning during the course.

Relevant work experience is mandatory. Students are required to have current Garda Vetting clearance in order to gain relevant work placement. It is your responsibility to secure Garda Vetting clearance and relevant work experience during the course.

Courses are delivered through a flexible learning approach which is a combination of classroom-based and on-line communication.

Classes are formed subject to minimum enrolment.

Entry Requirements

QQI Level 5 award in Early Childhood Care or equivalent. Copy of certification must be submitted on or before first class.

Consideration will be given to mature applicants (over 23 years) who do not meet these entry requirements but can demonstrate relevant experience.

Costs

Medical Card holders are exempt from QQI fee i.e. €80 reduction – subject to verification of card.

Part-time childcare courses may be funded/part-funded. We await details. Check in for updates!
